Nature’s Blueprints

It’s funny how much of what we do comes down to serendipity or chance. Take, for example, this blog entry. I was planning to write about how the squirrels and birds in my garden have been exhibiting a high degree of teamwork over the past few weeks while raiding the feeder, and that wildlife stereotypes (e.g. squirrels being a garden villain) are often untrue.

However, I started playing around with new greeting card designs on Saturday night and I am now very excited about two potential directions I can go in. This was a complete accident as I was actually trying to design new packaging to go with my gift tags. The packaging is still a work in progress, but through a bit of experimentation I’ve found a different way of using the animal engravings from my silhouette designs … allow me to introduce Nature’s Blueprints:

Related to this is what I am calling Nature’s Rainbow; although the design is similar, my thought is to package this as a set in different colours. Stay tuned to see how these develop and as I add new animals into the mix. Do you have a preference?  Drop me a line to let me know!
