What made you fall in love with the UK?
Whether you’ve been an Anglophile for years, are planning your first visit to Britain, or you’re just looking to explore the country online, thank you for stopping by the MissElaineous Blog!
My own journey began when I was 14. For a girl from a small town in Florida, the sights and sounds of London were intoxicating. Not only were there the classic landmarks of Big Ben, Piccadilly Circus, and Westminster Abbey, but the shows of the West End and the world-class museums were like nothing I had ever experienced.
England became a magnet, pulling me back again and again. There was a summer spent studying Shakespeare in Cambridge. An archaeological excavation at a Roman town. A full year spent in the UK as an undergraduate, followed by research to earn a Masters and PhD. Then marriage and settling down in a Wiltshire market town on the edge of the picturesque Cotswolds.
Communication and creativity are my passions, so it seemed only natural to start the MissElaineous Blog to share my life in the UK with family, friends, and those who are interested in getting a different perspective from across the pond.

There’s a good reason MissElaineous was chosen as the name for my blog: I have a lot of interests! Beyond this site, I also run the following pages:
Unfortunately litter is a big problem in the UK. Off the Ground was set up to share my thoughts about how we can stop it.
