I fell in love with the UK when I was 14. For a girl from a small town in Florida, the sights and sounds of London were intoxicating. Not only were there the classic landmarks of Big Ben, Piccadilly Circus, and Westminster Abbey, but the shows of the West End and the world-class museums were like nothing I had ever experienced.

England became a magnet, pulling me back again and again. There was a summer spent studying Shakespeare in Cambridge. An archaeological excavation at a Roman town. A full year spent in the UK while a college undergraduate. Post-graduate research to earn a Masters and PhD. Then marriage and settling down in a Wiltshire market town on the edge of the picturesque Cotswolds.

Communication and creativity are my passions, so it seemed only natural to start the MissElaineous Blog to share my life in the UK with family, friends, and those who were interested in getting a different perspective from across the pond. Thanks for stopping by, and please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any comments or questions.
