Speaking of lessons learned, my time spent working on Indian River by Air has yielded a number of cross overs into MissElaineous, from the use of silhouettes for designs to my fondness for MOO business cards (not cheap, but great quality and you can use as many pictures as you want). Something else I stumbled on: Redbubble.

There are a number of sites that provide print-on-demand products, but I liked that Redbubble was 1) free for sellers, and 2) easy to use. This combination has led to the creation of the Indian River by Air Shop over the past few years, and I’ve recently been dabbling with using it for my MissElaineous photography and designs.

I find it incredibly rewarding to see how my images can go from digital to real at the click of a mouse. Not only that, but the site is a treasure trove of art and design from creators around the world: I am writing this while wearing a t-shirt from a German artist based on the Japanese film My Neighbour Totoro, all easily delivered to my home in England. So if you like to support independent artists, or are just looking for something that’s a little bit different, I definitely recommend giving Redbubble a try.
